Lotus Elise S3 Dashboard Malfunction

Dashboard lights are randomly either on or off and can change status for no apparent reason.  When lights off seatbelt warning light also inactive.  All other warning lights working.  Problem developed over winter when car was in storage.  Does not seem to be a loose electrical connection.   Any ideas or suggestions welcome.  Trying to avoid replacing whole unit (if possible).

Try taking out and returning fuse 8 or it might be 9 - have heard this resets dash lighting problems

 

It might not work in this case, but an easy thing to try, all it costs is time
