Good And Bad News

Recommended Posts

After the car misfiring at Blyton in May, I've eventually found a morning to look at the car.

Good news is I've found the issue.

Bad news is I need a new lambda sensor (black wire melted) and my 200 cell cat is destroyed.

Any recommendations for decent lambda for sc K20a and someone to weld a new cat into my pipe?

Lesson is cat for MOT only and not on track.

I think the best lambdas are the Honda OEM part. They are Denso I think or maybe NGK (called NTK for the lambdas)?

Think the NTK one is NTK14699105904 should be able to check on here http://www.lambdasensor.co.uk/

SC cars eat the lambdas due to very high exhaust temps. These are suppused to be a good solution to the problem. Even Scuffers rated them!

I've got one but never got round to fitting it.

Cheers Leigh. I was expecting the OEM as that was the only reliable choice a few years back but hoped there was ano aftermarket that was as good but cheaper. TBH this has lasted for all the time I had the conversion and only just failed as one of the wires melted. I'll look at your other link when I'm on my PC rather than phone. Cheers

Make sure you get some decent heat shield for the wires.

When mine died it was the pre-heater circuit that failed and that seemed to kill it totally.

Looks like it. Don't have the info on what i used and I now have a wideband fitted so that's a different number.

If you search that NTK part number on ebay you can get it cheaper than the just lambda site,

Mind you they might not be genuine.

I've bought some stuff for the Alfa engine rebuild form this place. They seem to offer 2 year warranty on Lambdas.
