KurtB
Hi Guys and Gals, Lotus in the Peak is over and what a stormer it was. I feel like a child on boxing day morning and want to play with all the toys again. I wish LiTP was more frequent, but I'll bet the organisers are glad of the break. It was fab to put faces to names (Andy, Mrs Andy and Kieran), see some old faces (Dean, Al, Jody, Scatty, Simon and others besides), and just to enjoy some great cars in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. My most sincere thanks to the organisers, and all the attendees that made it all so very good. I'm glad the Excel boys got an award, I can't help thinking they are getting better with age, I need to scour the classifieds.... While I'm thinking about the event (and I will for a little while yet), I'd just like to ask about the Elan +2 that had the AC Ace/Cobra front end, with fixed headlamps. It certainly divided opinion, but does anyone know more about it? Thanks again, Kurt
Dr H
Didn't make LiTP this year Kury but remember seeing that car last year. Sure there was something about it on here somehere.
Sundaydriver
Hi, I chatted to the owner and his son, and also spoke to him last year when he showed up. It's his idea of a nod to Ferrarri, and in response to the fact that he understood Chapman reluctantly accepted the front end Plus Two design as there was no time to redesign it, whilst the non pop up design that had bee offered was considered too close to E Type look... It's MX5 engine, and box, and the front end was a chicken wire creation from scratch he said, awesome skills here !!! That's as much as I remember, I know it's a creation him and his son worked on, and I thought it looked very good.
Daveb99
I thought it was very nice indeed - it's always interesting to see people's interpretations and the one-offs they result in. Last year at Cholmondeley there was a one off Elan +2 "bread van", it was awesome. I've just noticed my car is also in the above photo. You might need a magnifying glass though ;-) Roll up folks, it's the MLOC "Where's Wally's Lotus" challenge (if I recall, back in my day I was hunting for Lowly Worm in the good old Richard Scarry books.....anyone else remember that.....?!) scatty
It's always good to have you out and about with your Exige Kurt. I was torn between yours and the yellow one. And whilst im here, not everyone gets a special Scatty man hug !!! Not during daylight anyway.
KurtB
That yellow one was nice, but then they all are! I'm contemplating a colour change (oooooh, look at me now I'm earning!), but it may be some time off. That hug was very special to me too mate, joking aside made me feel welcome! I know I'm a bit pants when it comes to being involved with MLOC, a situation I MUST rectify!
kieranexige
Agree with Scatty Kurt, yours is stunning. Finally nice to put a face to the name. Really great to meet you though buddy.
