Musicman7
Hi guys, So my girlfriend just reminded me I hadn't switched off my headlights on the elise (which I found odd as I hadn't used it since yesterday - and am 99% certain I didn't use them in the first place as it was broad daylight when I was out in it) So upon going to turn them off, it became apparent the battery is almost dead as the car won't start - lights come on the dash and the windscreen wiper will go sloowwly across the screen but that's it. Is there some kind of mechanism which turns the headlights on if the battery is low?! Or maybe I did catch the light switch on the way out of the car .. but that would mean they had been on for more than 24 hours! Any help you guys can give would be much appreciated. The elise is a K series S2. Si
John FISH Curtis
I'd say you left them on and the battery is now flat. Either try and charge the battery or fit a new one, the check your lights are off.

AL.
My light switch failed a year or two ago. So, it won't turn off. I took it out and turned it 180 degrees, which for some reason disables the latching mechanism and now I can push it in to switch it on and pull it back out to switch it off. gingerbloke
On early S1 elises there were some weird wiring faults related to the cigarette lighter socket. A friend's S1 would continue to run without the key in when his phone charger was in it
James Salt
I Had this issue! checked everything fuses, relays, wiring... turned out to be the headlight switch itself. I swapped it over with the fog light switch until my new switch arrived. Had no issues since.
