Hello All,

My first post on here so go easy on me please :-)    I have an Elise S1, I removed the flexi pipe from the

heater to the screen duct and found what i think is the diverter flap lying inside. Anyone had this, and what do i need

to remove to repair? It looks like an absolute b***h of a problem to fix?

TIA,

Dave.

Hi Dave,

It is a bit of an awkward and back breaking task but you'll probably need to remove the heater matrix assembly in order to repair it.

There's a few photos in the link below from when I gave mine a bit of a refresh which may give you an idea of how everything comes apart. If you clamp off the 2 heater hoses to avoid coolant loss there aren't that many bolts to undo in order to remove it, some are just a little awkward to get to!

Yes I can vouch for that! I manged to pull one of the wires off mine, fortunately I got away with just moving the blower assembly to the side to re-solder the wires back on. If you are going to remove the unit i would recommend examining the red crimp connectors on the motor wires, mine had both corroded so badly they fell off! The job would have been made a lot easier my removing one of the brake lines that seemed to be constantly in the way!

Hello,

Thanks for the replies, I think I may have misled you with my description, the flap i'm referring to isn't in the heater unit,

it's in the duct underneath the dashboard. It switches between heat to the winscreen or heat to the feet.

TIA,

Dave.
