I notice EliseParts are now selling new K Series engine block

Might be good solution in respect of Liner height issues etc

 

Wonder where you stand with engine number and DVLA etc

looks like it has the 14 digit engine code cast on the top of the block, so probably just fill in the V5C with new number as per an engine swap...

I doubt they will be cheap. I wonder if Geary got the stuff for the Vulcan heads? I remember Kiwi Rog telling me someone had bought the plans / patent when PTP went. The Vulcan heads were a very good casting according to Rog IIRC.

Bodes well for the future of the k if people are willing to invest in its future. Also good for those of us who don't have a personal stash of Ms heads eh Martin ;-)

Are new blokes a good idea? Has anyone heard of old ones failing? I thought old ones could be an advantage because the heat cycles de - stresses them?

even old "blokes" were new at one time......

The new ones also appear remarkably similar to the Chinese versions. They have the webbing to stiffen them. Im not sure how stiff any K block is though without the head bolted on.
