cjwjames
Anyone got a car trailer in the Droitwich, Bromsgrove, Worcester area I can borrow/hire for half a day ? I need to get my Elise over to Paul Matty's Hi When I had a fault on my Elise a couple of years back with the engine cutting out they offered to come and pick the car up on there trailer ! Worth asking them as I'm sure they have one Hope this helps Regards Colin
rocketian
Thanks for that. I did ask them and they put me in touch with the guy that does their "fetching and carrying". He charged me just a little more than hiring a trailer fo rthe day. Bad news is that the fuel pump has failed - £400+ for a new one + about 10 hours work
Martin R
That will be real bad news at Matty prices. Ask Dan for a quote? He is only up the road.
111rdw
Drop me a u2u if you are still looking for a trailer. Another vote for Dan. Or Martin at top gear in Wolverhampton.
rocketian
Thanks for the offers and advice guys. I did contact Dan, but he was busy for the next few weeks. So the car is over at PMSC now. Just thinking £400 for a replacement fuel pump seems an awful lot - does that seem right??
Dr H
£400 is very expensive. And looking at the parts diagrams that's just the pump bit of the unit - not the whole thing. Spitfire (Gaz) does an uprated pump - not sure if they do one for an S2 but it's about £300 for the whole unit. This means you can just drop it in and don't have to rebuild yours with a new pump unit. Yours is a Toyota yes? If so how about this from Seriously Lotus - http://www.seriouslylotus.com/fuel-pump-upgrade-kit-toyota-cars Cheaper than the £400 odd from Lotus and you get more than just the pump. Or just the fuel pump http://www.seriouslylotus.com/hi-flow-denso-fuel-pump-as-fitted-to-260-cup-etcat half the price of Lotus. Both of the above pumps are uprated too.
