stockhome
Hi Nick It's probably either the throttle position sensor, or the Idle air control valve. You can start with a tips reset which is described in the following page http://wiki.seloc.org/a/Throttle_Position_Sensor I had a problem with mine and ended up replacing both. nickashton
Thanks stockhome. I'll give the reset a try today. If not I'll replace the TPS and see what happens.
Steve J
Try spraying carb cleaner over the intake manifold when idling to see if it's a leak there.
nickashton
I've just reset the TPS and tickiver is more stable. Should I still replace it?
Martin R
I've just reset the TPS and tickiver is more stable. Should I still replace it? Mine eats them so i get them off old Rovers at the scrappy. That or a careful buy on ebay? They are not cheap for what they are. I would get another one to try and rule it out. The other cause is the throttle body butterfly not closing correctly all the time. nickashton
Thanks Alex. I'm based in Congleton Cheshire. May be a bit far from Castle Donnington.
