Gearbox Oil.

Hi looking to replace the gearbox oil in my Elise 111r.

 

Can anyone advise what may be the best oil to pop in.

A good 75w90 GL4 or GL5 oil

 

Ideally go for a fully synthetic oil with the Toyota box, it will keep the gear change smooth.

Again a 75w90 GL4 oil for the PG1 box. How often depends on what you are using it for. Just a road car and you should be good for 80K miles, if you do trackdays then every 2 or 3 years. On our race cars we change it every 20 hours of use.

Redline MT90 gets my vote..... Sorted out the crunch into 3rd on the RGB when the gearbox was cold

I second what Andy has said. Change to this oil and gear change is so much better especially when cold.

I've just bought 5 L of MTF94 because it's the recommended oil for both the PG1 and the Getrag box on our Mini CS.

Got it for just over £ 20 delivered which seemed a good price.

What's the current thinking about the best transmission oil for an S1 (CR box, not that it makes any difference?)?
