Marcus
Hi all, My S1 k series has began smoking from the exhaust and slowly using oil, but only when accelerating out of a corner hard. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? It doesn't smoke from startup either hot nor cold so I don't think it's valve stem seals. Let me know any potential ideas Thank you
Martin R
Marcus, following you at Spa it was smoking on over run quite a bit. Im guessing valve stem oil seals. Get someone to follow you and have a look.
kieranexige
I would agree with Martin if it was smoking on the overrun. Other than that do you run a baffled sump and what kind of breather, do you have catch cans fitted? Could be a blockage?? I'd check to see if there's allot of oil in the breather pipes
@ndy
Are you sure the smoke is not from your tyres..... I've seen the way you go round corners Check the oil breathers as mentioned above.
jonnyfox
Good luck with regards the problem but I do like the threads title, makes you sound cool as ***k!
Marcus
I've finally worked out today that it only smokes when cornering right and accelerating. I've checked all the breather pipes (I'm running a catch tank) and all is well, as far as I'm aware the car does not have a baffled sump. Any further ideas?
