Apologies.....

A few days before the Lotus Festival at Brands Hatch, I was invited down with the chance of some hospitality and paddock/pit access.

So in the Exige I packed a tent, some camping stuff and set off on the Friday.

In the evening enjoyed a glass of wine and light meal but didn't feel 100%, like I had a bloated stomach.

Just trapped wind I thought and retreated to my sleeping bag at 11pm.

Saturday still the same but watched some racing after a cup of tea, some fruit, bowl of cereals.

Drank water all day, ate more fruit and sandwiches but didn't feel tiptop, so packed the tent up and booked myself into the Brands Hotel. Had a swim and Jacuzzi but by 5pm I was shivering uncontrollably, my skin covered in Goosebumps .

So off to my room for 12 hours I shivered in between drinking Lucazade and water. But my pee's were, shall we say, treacle.

Sunday morning it took me 4hrs to get home, I honestly don't know how I managed it.

To cut a long story shorter......   Monday night in Kings Mill Hospital - Tuesday night emergency doctor at home - no food consumed for 5 days - week off work in bed - drinking 1ltr of Lucazade and 3ltrs or water every 24hrs.

Lost so much weight my eyes were sunk into my eye sockets.

Last week back at work but asleep/in bed by 6-7pm

Still only 90% better but doctor has given me the all clear.

So, apologies for missing last months FLEM and I hope to see you all soon.

Beer, I knew it was the answer to everything! If you can't drink beer, a couple of pints of water in the morning and more in the afternoon will keep you tip top Fish. Glad you're on the mend :-)
