Thomas Harborne
Hi guys, sorry i keep posting. Basically i left the house this morning and hear a couple of squeeks coming from the right hand side, mever heard this before. Thought it was just a stone stuck somewhere. Noise soon went and never came back, but then on the motorway letting off the accelerator at 75 approx i can hear what sounds like a bell noise coming from the right hand side. It only does it at 75, no other speed and only when letting off the gas. Any ideas?
Steve J
A fastener is loose and vibrates at that frequency. The other could have been a stone in the brakes.

I hooe your right Steve. When i was doing 75, i was in gear and it would ring. Until approx 70-72. I took it out of gear and slowed down in neutral and didnt hear a thing. So im just going to accept that its a loose fixing!
Thomas Harborne
Just wondering if the engine mount here could cause this noise. The condition of it is pretty awful.
@ndy
Hi Thomas, I'm not sure the engine mount would cause that noise and although it looks in poor condition the worst problem would be excessive movement of the engine which in turn could cause damage to the exhaust etc. To check try and move the engine by hand, you shouldn't really be able to move it move than 5-10mm at most. In the photo I notice the cam belt cover is missing, I would not use the car too much on the road with this not fitted, the cover protects the belt from stray stones and debris causing damage. Sorry not much help on the noise....... Andy.
