Wildspark
I'm lining up a winter project to swap out the G6BP box in my S2 111S for younger B4BP. While I'm at it I'm wondering about the clutch. I'm not sure when itwas changed by previous owners. It doesn't slip and seems to work fine at present. Is there anything special about the clutch on the S2? Would a sandard Rover one like this fit and be OK? http://www.dmgrs.co.uk/collections/clutch-transmission-parts/products/borg-beck-rover-k-series-1-8-215mm-3pc-clutch-kit-urf000121-fits-rover-200-400-25-45-zr-zs The AP racing clutch does seem to be a bit of overkill.... I guess if the two main wearing parts look sound it would still be a good idea to change out the release bearing at the very least? Any wise words gratefully accepted! jonnyfox
I have an AP race clutch in the B4BP gearbox I have just bought, why is it an overkill? I assume it may be too aggressive and will likely swap mine out. Interested in the feedback you get...... Edit with the title S2 clutch btw I thought you were on about the 2zz. Wildspark
I'm just being a cheapskate! Overkill in terms of cost as against just re-using my existing clutch. Since I'll be doing the work myself, I don't mind leaving the clutch in and if necessary changing it later, but if the std Rover clutch is fine at about £100 it might be worth doing at the same time.
