Meister
Hi Have you lost the standard one? as that's fine for track days. I have replaced mine with this....as it look's good and if I do come off it's nice and bright for the tow man to see, rather than him attaching the the tow rope to the first thing that he sees!! https://www.eliseparts.com/products/show/57/607/msa-regulation-front-towing-eye/ Mark
keo
Thanks Mark, I can't find my standard eye so that should do the job. Where is your towing eye normally?
Meister
Thanks Mark, I can't find my standard eye so that should do the job. Where is your towing eye normally? Hi The towing eye on S2 cars is normally kept in the 'tool kit' that contains a couple of allen keys, spline tool and locking wheel nut accessory. In the S2's these tool kits are normally kept in the plastic 'pocket' on the side of the battery cover in the boot. HTH. Mark

Dr H
Having recently had experience of having to use one, get a decent one for the rear. When the guys at Donny arrived to pull me out of the gravel they wanted to put a strap through the wheel as they said that the front tow eyes are easily damaged on Lotuses, they pull out quite easily. I pointed out I had one on the rear which was bolted into the subframe. They used that and it was solid as a rock. fentuz
The rear quite strong. Mine were converted from m8 to M10 high tensile (because it was easy). If I had to redo it, i'd go 3/8'
DanP
The tow straps look nice, and not too expensive. http://www.elise-shop.com/towing-strap-for-front-tow-strut-all-models-p-502561.html
chris_h
Agree if its for track days i'd put a rear one on. This also means they can pull you back out the gravel, which is normally shorter than pulling you through it.

One of these: https://www.eliseparts.com/products/show/57/606/msa-regulation-rear-towing-eye/ This is why I made my own up from scratch, the complete tow post which is more securely bolted down to the crash structure and a new tow eye, which is now high tensile M12.
