Yeah the battery rental kills it for some people - but for us, the £118 per month includes the battery rental so it's still as cheap as chips.

I'm about to switch our energy supplier too - so it will soon be 2p per mile to run...

so looks like a new set of 6 inch polishing pads being bought with the savings on the electric (existing pads must be bald by now)

I can vouch for this.... All 100% off the torque aimed straight at me.

Hehe I had forgotten about that Kieran, we had only just got the car so couldn't resist launching the surge of silence at you in that cold dark car park!!

How did you get on then Alex?

Car was very good.

Really nippy and nice n smooth to drive.

However the range was a big down side for me.

The 2 main reasons for replacing the Clio are:

Reliability

Spare car for Katie of hers isn't usable.

Unfortunately Katie works too far away to make the electric ZoE viable

I also test drove the Renault Captur and a new twingo while there. Both very nice cars.

Also popped down to the Vauxhall dealer and test drove a Mokka.

Fingers crossed GM make the Bolt available in RHD!

It's an open secret as an Opel it will be available to mainland Europe as the Ampera-E (Yes very confusing I know)

200 mile range, quite quick ( 0-60 < 7 seconds) and MUCH more parking friendly than the Tesla.

The Leaf is supposed to be a good car, but have to say I think the Zoe is the first all-electric hatch that just looks 'normal' to my eyes!

Stupid name though. It's like the Vauxhall Adam, what's that all about? What's next, the Lotus Eleanor?

It is not quite as stupid a name as it sounds - ZE for Zero Emissions.

I have just ordered one too, pick it up on Sunday.  Zoe Dynamique Nav

Charging point is still fitted free

It is a 2 year PCP deal, 7500 miles a year,  £1000 down and £77 a month for the car and £80 for the battery - so total £157 a month.

zero road tax, insurance ~£150, and leccie is about 2p a mile (less if you have economy7)

Sadly, the Elise has gone - now I am officially "between Lotus'"

The Ampera is already available here (or am I missing a key point somewhere). Test drove one down in Peterborough before getting seduced by the i3.

It's confusing isn't it.

The "next gen" Chevy Volt has just been launched in the US.  It's a big step up in many areas.

The all new Chevy Bolt (an all electric with 200+ mile range) launches at the end of the year.

To turn this into something even more confusing the Volt is known as the Ampera in the EU (under Opel/Vauxhall), but the latest one isn't here yet..  The Bolt will be known as the "Ampera-e" when it arrives. wacko.png
