Litp (Chatsworth) Convoy To Matlock? Le/de/ng

Last year (and previous years) groups have met up and we have convoyed up to Matlock, are we doing it again? There's speculation about road closures and traffic around centre of derby/markeaton park for the jenson button triathlon. I'm no good at routes so may have to go up motorway. Anyone coming up from Leicestershire, or any suggestions for a central meeting point in the morning it will be early start not sure on times anyone fancy commenting, think DrH lead last time or may have been SteveJ

I led from Ashby to the A50 and then we met up with Dobbo, Steve J and others who then lead us up to Matlock.

 

Happy to join a convoy again this time.

Anybody doing the early morning run want to meet / convoy from ashby or A42 ( or you tell me wilbe travelling up M42 so can divert if its on route ?)

That's not the way we went !  The route across Derby is right, but we took the Wirksworth Road out of Duffield through Idridgehay (or I did, and I was leading that bit  ).

 

With hindsight, the route across town wasn't the best.  A50 - A38 would work better, then pick up the Idridgehay route.

 

That might take folks through the road problems with the Triathlon though.

I'll be going nowhere near the A42, so if anyone else is going from Notts -possibly A610 or M1 (or even A50 ) - happy to join up somewhere en-route.

What ever is easiest either join a50>m1>a610? Might be wise to avoid centre of derby this year with the JB run in the centre of derby closing roads and traffic issues that way?

 

Or Ashby (Tesco point) A42> A50 (slip road/parking area at side of road at junction 1 towards sawley > Long Eaton (West Park Leisure Centre meet point) >m1 j25> J26 joining A610 there's a parking at side of a610 guys previously waited here and tagged on to back of us when heard us coming > onto Matlock bit of a dull route but some fast islands and a few bends for the ashby guys coming through sawley then at each point people can tag onto the back of the convoys as we here them coming ? Thoughts ?

- M1 J25 (passing long eaton west park leisure centre)

- M1 J26 > A610 (side road parking which is just down the hill before ikea allows any north notts to tag onto the back)

I'm aiming to head up Saturday morning, I'll likely head up M5/M42 , or M5 / Evesham / Stratford, M42 .. Not sure ...via Ashbourne .. then onto A roads up to Buxton for lunchtime.

 

If anyone wants to meet/convoy part of that please shout up.

 

Sunday I'll be coming from Buxton to Matlock Bath , same applies.

 

Spending Saturday day and Eve in Buxton with family, as its Carnival day in my home Town. Sorry I'm not donning
