gmr111
It's been a while....... Was trying to get the flying boggie ready for Le Mans this year and not been able to get it through emissions, upon inspection my Cat is now breaking up, its hardly been on, just old I guess. I am running up towards a Honda Type R engine conversion, so really would prefer not to buy a new cat unless I really have to. Can any kind soul in or around Grantham loan me an S1 cat? I have abandoned Le Mans in it this year and in no rush until my return week after next. If you see the 111 beemer, give us a toot and a wave and try an keep up ....;op (only joking). What camp site are you guys on? Would appriciate any kind offer of a loaner as the Elise is feeling sad left high and dry. TA. BR Gary
dobbo
I have one, but I'm in Derby. If you don't get any nearer offers, it's here doing nothing until next January....
gmr111
Cheers Dobbo, you are a star, may take you up on that if nothing surfaces more locally. Its been hard to get it through for last few years, hod to have it smoking hot, now can't get it in and its raining gold flakes on the bench..... cheers and may be back in touch. Have fun. Dennis
I am in Sheffield and my mate runs an mot centre so could fit it test it and put a decat on all in one place. I was in too minds about taking my Elise, I really wanted to but the 9 hour drive on sears with little/no padding, the worry about the low ride hight 115mm and the uneven fields/camp sites etc and the forecast for thunderstorms etc along with the rip off cost of brake down cover has meant the Volvo company car will be making the trip again. I'm stopping on beaujour near the Porsche curves
gmr111
Hi Dennis, that was a thought I was having along with Dobbo's offer, drive to meet someone, fit a cat, have a test and refit the decat and come away so I not taking away someone part. Letting things cool down will make for a relaxed test. May take you up on that if I can use a ramp to fit, etc. Like me you will rue the lack of the bling wheels. Such a great road trip in an Elise, done it a few time, sadly not this year. I am working at the event a few days before the race and stopping for the race its self so I needed more space in the car, rather than freighting ztuff back and forth....... I have stopped at Beajour a few times, nice and close. May we can catch up, with only 200,000 people there you nevr know. Have fun. Gary
