Suspension Help

Marcus

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I'm in a bit of a tricky situation, I have noticed a loud knock from the rear of my car and it's become quite twitchy to drive.

After inspection it turns out my 2 rear shocks are leaking. They are Bilstien's fitted to my S1 Elise, the plan is to send them to Bilstien's to be rebuilt.

However I have a track day booked on my birthday on the 5th June and worried they may not be done in time.

Does anyone have any spare shocks that I can buy/ rent to get me out of trouble? Or any advise on what I should do?

Thanks

Marcus all four of my old shocks are at Unit 4 in Burton. One of the rears is serviceable. If they are any good to you you can have them - just give Gav a ring and tell him I said you can have them. He may have another one kicking around if you're lucky.

btw standard billies cost about £90 each to rebuild including a paint - more if you want new springs.

The used ones Martin has put up look a good buy but I would also suggest you try Nitron Street Series (this is what I did and I am impressed by them). Dave at Seriously Lotus prob has them in stock and will send them next day delivery for seven hundred and something quid. Then you can adjust your ride height, put some rake on etc. They will make the car LOADS quicker on track.

Come and have a go in mine if you want to try them.
