Handbrake On Lotus Elise

Hi All,

 

I wondered if anyone has had problems with the handbrake on a Lotus Elise?

 

Problem was when parking pointing downwards on a hill, the car moved forward after a period of time (5 minutes).

 

Luckily it was 10 minutes before the local school discharged the kids.

 

I can only assume that when the disc cooled the pads lost their purchase and inertia took over!!

 

I got out of the habit of leaving it in gear when I had a Diesel engined car.

 

Rest assured I will always leave in gear in the future.

I reckon you are bang on with your assumption, I always leave any car in gear when parked, not always with the handbrake on, esp when the brakes are wet.
