Meister
I have a 2009 Exige 240S and like my previous Lotus the locking wheel bolts went so I replaced them with standard wheel bolts from Elise Parts http://www.eliseparts.com/products/show/76/1039/original-equipment-wheel-bolts/ Had no problems but this morning I have read something about the fact the the PP 308mm front disks have longer wheel bolts is this correct and should I be concerned by this?TIAMark

I wish you had posted earlier as I have spent hours researching this today! This puts my mind at rest as mine is the MY 08 with single piece brake discs so therefore has standard wheel bolts! But....the bit I don't understand is that seriously Lotus's original equipment bolts are 25mm thread and Eliseparts are 28mm thread? Mark

Glad it helped. I put the same discs when I put new on this winter the 308mm single piece. Not sure on thread length but 3mm at the pitch is probably going to give 1-2 more turns tops. The ones from Dave were exactly the same as the ones that I took out. Kieran
fentuz
You might find these guys have several options http://www.jjcraceandrally.com/race/wheel-nuts-bolts
Meister
You might find these guys have several options http://www.jjcraceandrally.com/race/wheel-nuts-bolts Thanks Fentuz However, I have come to the conclusion that either 25mm or 28mm is perfectly fine in a S2 with the exception of the older BBK pre MY08 which need to be 28mm. Seriously Lotus bolts are 25mm and Elise Parts are 28mm, I am pretty sure Elise Parts would have had some complaints by now if their longer bolts were causing any problems. Numbnutz
I would say that as long as the bolts poke through the back of the hub and there is thread showing, and they do not foul or come close to fouling anything behind the hub (there is a fair amount of clearance on my MY04) when fully assembled then all is ok. Basically jack the car so the wheel is up, and place on full lock and feel for the stud ends exiting the hub - not sure how easy this is without trying it - maybe I should. Thicker bells, or thicker wheels (where the bolts fit) would affect this - basically, you want the bolt to use all of the thread in the hub, plus a bit poking through as a safety / sense check.
