I think it could be a long few days....... I bet you can't think of anything else......

My mind is currently occupied working out if I have the tools to remove the passenger seat so I can retrieve 2 years worth of coins, and other small items :)

My last car took 14 months from order to delivery, 14 days is a walk in the park :D

That looks great! I'm a little jealous of all these V6's being bought, they really are growing on me...

Thanks!

Yep, definitely a different animal. I'm still a sucker for the old school Exige look, but the way they drive has me sold ;)

I'm going at it from a "grown up Elise" rather than a "faster Exige", so it definitely scores well for me on this front. (And why I went Roadster over Coupe)

If I were to be critical, I'd say my old S2 Exige S felt "edgier" (and I'm guessing the S1 even more so), which for a fun track car would be what I'd be after.  No doubt the Exige V6 beats the earlier cars against the stopwatch, but it's as much about the enjoyment as times for me, so I still think the S1's and S2's are still hugely relevant, especially as track day cars.  (Plus I'm no where near good enough to exploit the improvements if I'm honest with myself, so even my 125bhp S2 Elise is far more capable then me ;) )

I'm looking to put some fairly big road miles on the car though, and I prefer my Elise for road use, this just turns it up a notch. I have a 5k mile tour planned in August, so bigger torque, wider track, and longer wheelbase are all good news for me. (And I am hoping for lots of tunnels :D)

If I had the space and cash, I'd have one of each ;):D

Well put Simon. In reference to your last sentence, me too! I think it's the "long leggedness" of the V6 Exige really appeals, the ability to use it as a GT (OK, not the ideal car) and then give it a squirt on the track seems perfect to me. I took my S1 to Le Mans last year, and when I arrived I definitely felt a degree of relief, mostly because it made it without issue and because of the silly temperatures in the cabin.

I don't think I can do without my S1 (it still makes me stop and stare at it in the garage, 4 years into ownership), but I do miss a convertible. I'd like to afford a Caterham (had a Westy years ago) and maybe a V6 Exige. I'd better keep doing the lottery... unsure.png

One more sleep to go!

I did have mild panic trying to find the V5 for the current car (it wasn't in my normal car folder) but fortunately I found it!

So now I just need to remove passenger seat tomorrow before I set off to retrieve coins and spare GoPro adapters, and I'll be already to go.

Excited :D

Took my proper camera today fully intending on taking some nice photos... unfortunately it chucked it down on the way home so no real opportunity, and now the car is now filthy.  Fingers crossed for some sun tomorrow, and I'll post some pics!

However I'm completely blown away with the car TBH, performance, refinement (proper boot stays, no undoing bolts to get to the inspection cover, etc. etc.), noise levels at speed, brakes, quality of leather,  erm... everything seems turned up a notch over the old car.

I will admit to being a bit skeptical of the price tag when the car launched, as at first blush it did seem a bit like an Elise/Exige with a bigger engine, just now the wrong side of £55k.

In hindsight I had that wrong, it's a different car. So much so I think Lotus should have called it something different!

Can't wait to see what she's like over 4k RPM, only 874 miles to go, not that I'm counting :D

Your Exige looks like a stunner Simon - hope to see some proper pics soon.

And, these 'ere V6's really do sound awesome - I press the "Sport" button every single journey!!  Still keeping the revs to 4k max until the first service at Silverstone on the 9th May - can't wait smile.png.
