Musicman7
Not had the smoothest start to Elise ownership. Turns out the head gasket had gone already, there was also a few other issues which Gav at Uni4 sorted for me. Had the car back a few weeks and today stupidly I let the car role into the metal fence on my drive! ffs! Part of the fence went straight through, is there any body shops local (ish) to Chesterfield that can undertake this kind of work? What would rough cost be, I CONSIDERED going for an Exige front clam from Elise parts.. but probably won't if this one can be mended somehow? Any help would be greatly appreciated in this time of need lol. Thanks all, ps attended my first meet (of sorts recently) and met a few members on here which was great.. hoping to have this thing back on the road in the not too distant future to attend more in summer! Alex B
Doesn't look too bad. Mine has a pretty big hole in it. Speak to Gav his body shop is good.
Christopher Lawless
Have far do you want to travel? I know a good place in Sheffield (Chesterfield side). They sorted mine out when someone backed into it in a car park and they used to do all the work for Gordon Lamb Lotus when that was in Sheffield. I've heard that they aren't the cheapest (mine was on insurance) but they defo know their stuff and get it right. So much so I returned to them when my splitter needed repairing. M@r]{
The Exige clam conversion isn't quite as straight forward as you may think either, I looked to do this when I had my Elise and someone reversed into it. By the time you take into account the access panels, the sections by the wheels, the grills, the splitter etc it becomes a lot more expensive than just a replacement Elise clam

Sorry Chris but they massively overprice. They quoted me £1k for some welding which a local man did on my drive for £100. When I mashed the spoiler on my Esprit, I got it repaired by Malin Motors near Hillsborough who specialise in fibre glass repairs. http://www.malinmotorbodiessheffield.co.uk/body-shop.html less than a mile from me too - thanks for that. Where do you live Ali you must be near me at Ecclesall. Be nice to meet over a cuppa?

Cost didn't really matter to me as someone else's insurance was paying :-)
