dobbo
We went to the Touring Cars at Donny today - great day out with racing from Renault Clios, Ginettas, Ginetta Juniors, Formula Ford and (of course) the Touring Cars themselves. There were 2 or 3 races for each series. Some great racing, very well behaved (even the youngsters in the Ginetta Juniors). It was fascinating seeing the Doctor's car (followed the parade lap and lap 1 of every race) trying to keep up. It was an Audi RS Q7 (I think) and was squealing tyres all the way round - clearly trying hard but out-paced by the slowest car in each class. Top speed (successfully) through the Craner Curves - over 132mph in a Ginetta. The Porsche Panamera was doing loads of laps between races. I think it was doing VIP laps. It's V8 sounded awesome. Surprise of the day - seeing Mike Williams with a stand for Metro racing just near the paddock. Had a quick chat, mostly about the day's events. He's still racing in the Metro series, and will be back at Donny towards the end of May.

I'm currently watching the GP fast forwarding it, bored out of my tree... It seemed blooming cold out today, I bet it was up there....

stockhome
Watched both the F1 and touring car on Sunday the racing is much better in the touring. With all the ballast soft tyes and grid swaps. I also recorded the MR2 championship, MilesH got a 3rd in the first race 2nd in the second race and fastest lap https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-V3bmU0izA
Foggy
I was there too, try to go to most of them about the country, you are right everyone was well behaved, not too much in the way of incidents. I have to admit to leaving early and racing back home to catch TC's race 3 on tele, I had been there since 8.30 and was bloody frozen to the bone (getting old and can't cope with cold any more!). The Drs car is a Cayenne Turbo, course car a white Panemera and the dark silver Panemera GTS is Alan Gow's the series Director, I think he takes guests on flying laps. I recon he has done some sort of deal with Porsche UK. The Drs car pushes it every time, it was interesting watching and hearing him go round Druids at Brands Hatch. Shame the Porsche cup wasn't run this weekend, they are fantastic to watch.
chumaxa
Nothing better than being frozen watching some touring cars, being there with the pit atmosphere and the smell, can not compare to anything else ...
