Is there a way of making your profile private so that only "allowed" members can see your contact details without having to delete them all?

What is it you are looking to hide on the page? Your contact details should not be on your profile for anyone but admins to see. They just get a "send me a message" button but no email address.

It would be nice if all they could see is the profile picture, name and maybe the last activity time and date. Then once "friended" be able to see you car/location information and be able to search previous posts etc. Bit like say Facebook profiles.

I've checked and you are basically limited to what you can enter in here:

Not keen on hacking that apart for what is a very niche request as it would make upgrades to the forum software even more complicated than they are already.

He doesn't, its just you have "admin" access to the backend of the site from Chatsworth organising, hence you can see it.
