Hello,

My names Joshua and currently looking at buying an Exige S2 'supercharged' after selling my RS4 but struggling to find any garages with one local to have a little tester to see if its something i would like.

Was wondering if anyone local to Telford, shropshire would be interested in a meet up and chat and to actually see one in person before i start travelling all over the UK to find one?

Also i have spotted but its been up for a long time an Exige S2, turbo got a brilliant spec list but been for sale for ages (not a good sign). Any input on this?

Thanks :)

Yes it is been there for a cery very long time, more than a year I think ... I may be wrong, but it is not like a standard or Lotus validated supercharge kit .... It looks weird actually .... but if want you can buy mine and supercharge it by yourself ! Same color and spec ! (wild advertising ! )

Well it's turbo so probably why it looks strange ;) did think about buying an N/A and supercharging it but won't It be close to the same price as buying an S from the start?

Need to have a go in one ideally see if it's for me.

Yes yes, I am not trying to sell my car, if you were looking for a family car, I would have tried to sell it to you as a van ! But 4k for supercharge, this wake up my interest actually!

Hi Joshua,

Glad you're about to get the Lotus bug.  I've had my Exige S 240 for almost four years and enjoyed every minute.

Possible negative things to note are:

- the gearing is very short, so 6th gear is around 19mph per 1000rpm.  Not that its ever bothered me, given that the engine will comfortably rev to 8500rpm.

- the steering is very heavy thanks to those A048s.  But it only becomes a problem when trying to manouver at very low speed.  The steering is always meaty and full of feel though.

- the clutch is quite heavy.  But compared to, say, a Porka Cayman / Boxster, its as light as a feather!!

- it is pretty thirsty given that its "only" a 1.8.  But if you like recording cost per mile then this car is not for you.  I just put more in when it needs it.

- it eats rear tyres, so deep pockets are advisable.

Hugely positive things to note are:

- the way it hooks up out of slow corners will take your breath away.

- the scream from the supercharger at 8500rpm is totally addictive - be warned.

- the thing just never stops accelerating - its bonkers - every gear gives almost as much grunt as the previous one, even though logically that shouldn't be the case!!

- there's real downforce, especially with the 2010 aero changes - you can really feel it working from 70+

- lateral G - ooooooh, yes, this car loves corners and will also make the straight bits in between them seem very short indeed!!

Hopefully your meet-up with Andy will amply demonstrate all of the positives smile.png .
