An Introduction From Jct

Good Afternoon everyone,

Although it's slightly belated I thought I would say hello and introduce myself as a new member of staff at JCT 600 Leeds.

I took over from Dan in October as the Sales Specialist here, however there's a chance I will already be familiar to a few already as I've worked here for two years but on the Bentley side of the business.

I do have a little Lotus pedigree, I was raised on Lotus pretty much from childhood as my dad (Alan) is a Lotus enthusiast and has had an Elan Sprint, a +2, a Europa (Gold Leaf colours) and currently an M100. He may also be known to a few as he was the founder of NYLOC many years ago.

If anyone is local you're more than welcome to pop in for a cuppa and talk Lotus. 2015 has started very well and we've got various things to look forward to in the near future. We have an Exige IPS on the way, and also a Elise Cup R arriving in the next few weeks. We're also planning on having more events throughout this year, including driving days/breakfast runs etc.

Looking forward to meeting some new faces,

Kind Regards

Ben Allison

Hi Ben,

Welcome. I'm pretty tempted to see the Exige IPS for myself when I visit my mum in Leeds. Bought my Elise SC from Steve / you guys a few years ago, although I chopped it in for an Evora last year. Can't wait to see the facelifted Evora as well.

Hey, now you're here I have a shameless question to ask: I read somewhere that Lotus dealers are doing special offers on winter wheel/ tyre sets, so would you happen to know if this is just a vicious rumour? :-)

Welcome to MLOC Ben.  Any chance we can persuade you to come along to our big summer do,  Lotus In The Peak?  And your dad as well?

It's a great event.  And I'm sure quite a few would like to see the IPS car.  Have a look at the thread we now have running.

Morning,

I have just spoken to our parts guys and they're not aware of any special offers on the winter wheels and tyres...but he is going to check it out. I'll get back to you if there's an offer and with details.

Yeah I'm really looking forward to the facelifted Evora too, and with the Exige IPS lapping quicker round Hethel than the manual it's looking like it could be an exciting time.

When the IPS is here, I'll put a post up.

Hi Dean thanks for the welcome,

The summer do sounds great, we're definitely going to get out a bit more this year with regards to events and functions etc so personally I'm happy to attend things like this. It's hardly work when you love the cars after all!

Will check out the thread

What happened to Dan? Is andy still im charge up therr?

Dan left us to pursue a career in the stock market after being inspired by the Wolf of Wall Street smile.png

After many years service Andy left about a year ago now, stayed with JCT but fancied a change and went to Maserati down the road. He's not a stranger and we still see him often.

Steve is our Sales Manager now, he was originally the salesman working with Andy but left in 2011 to be a foster carer and returned last year to be the Sales Manager.

Thanks for letting me know about the wheels, I thought it might be too good to be true (and it just shows you shouldn't believe everything you read!)

Good to hear that Steve is back, he was a really great guy to deal with.

Totally agree about the IPS. I know it gets a bit of a hard time from some of the purists because it's a common autobox as opposed to some fancy double clutch system etc. but I love mine. The paddles are fun to use, it changes gears a lot quicker than I can, and the throttle blip on the downshift sounds great.
