KurtB
Having checked the handbook for recommended oil for the VHPD, I notice both types are discontinued. I'm at the stage where I've removed the oil filter to facilitate the exhaust manifold replacement, so may as well do an oil change (despite only being in the car for a few months). I really wanted Mobil 1, but what are you guys using in your VHPD's? I know it shouldn't affect my decision, but I have a Halfrauds trade card, so can get oil from them at more reasonable prices. I'm not bound by this however, so am open to suggestions. Cheers, Kurt
Alex B
Kurt, drop opie oils an oil enquiry, with your engine spec and usage type and they'll recommend what grade to use. As for brands that's down to person preference.
jody391
Mines no VHPD but mobil1 has been flawless in mine! My last car had castrol magnates and she was still going strong at 136k!
AlanS1
I use as recommended by Opie and Kiwi Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 10w-50 Ester. However in my previous engine i used Halfords fully Synthetic Track day Oil 10w-50 and was a fair bit cheaper that the above.
PeterField
Yep, another Fuchs Titan Pro S 10w-50 user here based on Opie's recommendation. I've used it for years now, yes it's a bit more expensive than some other options but mine definitely uses less now than when I tried Mobil 1 and you're not exactly having to change it every week
Martin R
The sticker in my boot says use 15W - 50, so thats what it gets
Steve J
Fuchs Titan 10-50 when I had one too. I thought it was Pro R though. Nice purple oil which means you can see the level straight away.
Dr H
Another user of Fuchs 10-50 here. This stuff: http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-68898-fuchs-titan-race-pro-s-10w-50-ester-synthetic-engine-oil.aspx As Steve says it's purple too! Or at least it used to be - seem to remember my last lot was 'normal' coloured. Another user of Fuchs 10-50 here.
