Alex B
What's best to use? Dave Andrews recommends lecture 574 from what I've found in post by him on various sites. Locative only sets when under compression. Gav suggested blue hylomar. Is a non setting gasket.
Phil S1
When I got the cams and verniers from Rog for mine he supplied me with a tube of the OE MG Rover sealant
AlanS1
Alex, I have some here at my workshop if you want to use some.? Probably be here a little later than normal as I am stopping to do some work on my car.
Martin R
Alex, put as little on as possible. Its only sealing 2 machined surfaces. The tappets will rattle if you block or partially block an oilway.

But I'm also on call tonight so shouldn't really stray too far from the house. Alex, put as little on as possible. Its only sealing 2 machined surfaces. AlanS1
No problem Alex. Same as what Martin said, do not put much on at all. I used a small radiator roller to apply mine. Be careful using Hylomar, from memory it's quite thin and runny. It would be very easy to use to much.

@ndy
Don't use Hylomar on the cam ladder, Only use the Rover OE sealant or Loctite 574 and as Martin says use as little as possible. Hylomar is used when re-seating the liners.
