  • Yeah love the car so far just need to sort this milage error out, spoke to lotus UK today, they have said after the first 1000 miles the mileage is set and cant be changed, so not sure whats happen to mine, it should be reading about 33,000 miles and has gone to 495,000, does anyone know where i can possibly get the clocks checked out? Im in stoke on trent

Cheers

Similar happened to our S2 Exige in 2004. It went from a few hundred miles to billions over night! ohmy.pngbiggrin.png Luckily, it wasn't technically possible for us to have driven that many miles in the time that we'd owned it.  We rang Peter Smiths who we'd ordered the car through, and they fitted a brand new stack with zero miles on the clock for free.

I'm guessing you'll have to buy a new stack...

worth asking couple of the guys on exige.com, like junks for tarmacterrorist, they often have spare bits from cars, but its unlikely youll find 1 with similar milage, as said, if its running true now id take photo evidence of your time with the car and back up previous with mot certificates, as a new stack is more like imho to suggest a problem than a clock showing impossible high milage

If you have a brand new stack installed by a dealer you should be able to have the mileage adjusted.

To be fair guys I can live it, it's just if I ever sell it I would imagine it will put buyers off, the car was originally in London from new , and spent most of it's life down there I think , I'm currently using it as a daily drive, so need to buy another car now as I don't want to wreck it during the winter, needs a service too before I put it away ,
