A (Potential) Visit To The Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight.

Hi Folks,

As my career in the RAF draws to a close in the next week, I'm hoping to arrange a visit to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby, Lincs. I've still to confirm details with the PRO, but I'd be willing to host a group of around 6-8 people and (preferably) their Lotus cars for a potential photo opportunity in front of a BBMF aircraft.

I have worked at BBMF and will be able to bore the most interested aviation enthusiast to tears with 3 hours of prattle about Spitfire this, Hurricane that and Lancaster the other (other BBMF aircraft types are available)!

The only requirements are that you have formal identification (passport, drivers licence), you aren't a known terrorist (or likely to be on the day), and have time during the working week (I'm with child, except on Thursday afternoon, and having my leaving function on Friday, my last day in the Mob, so that's out!), so it looks like Thursday afternoon IF the PRO is happy with that.

There is no cash alternative and this is a unique opportunity to get right up close to the last military owned piston engined warplanes.

Lastly, the last time I took people around was like herding sheep (hence my self imposed limit on numbers) and I was a crap shepard, so if we all play "follow my leader", that would be triffic!

Please, names below, and first come first served.

Kurt - I'm there! But you knew I was going to say that.......smile.png

Only issue for me is I might not have the car! One of them is still away having an exhaust made, 340 might be a possible if the weather is OK. Otherwise I'll be in the daily driver, but I can park it round the corner and walk in bangin.gif

KurtB, I am a newcomer here, would love to come (in my Elise), only problem is, what time likely start as the AA routfinder says 2 Hours 40 Mins to get there. Would also want to bring my wife.

For me, not one to miss as an aircraft enthusiast.

Regards,

Richard.
