MSH
I'm trying to fit a MOMO 88 steering wheel to the exige and struggling a little. I'm not sure if I'm being an idiot or if I've got the wrong adaptor. I've taken the airbag and original wheel off no problem to expose the hub, I can't see where the adaptor bolts on to the hub though. Do I need to take the centre nut off to remove the hub allowing me to fit the adaptor or is there something else obvious I'm missing? Pics below of original wheel, the adaptor and the steering hub. @ndy
It looks like you have the wrong adaptor, Reading the Elise parts website the adaptor you have is for non Airbag cars
MSH
I suspected as much. I wasn't certain as it was the part they recommended when I phoned them up and told them what car, model year etc. I was beginning to question myself though. MSH
I have this for sale. http://www.midlandslotus.co.uk/forum/classifieds/item/586-steering-wheel-quick-release-boss-and-50mm-spacer Appreciate the heads up but it looks like the same 50mm spacer I have which won't fit. I think it's the kit that Kosmo linked to which I need.
jody391
Have you taken the main column nut off? The spacer is mounted by bolting through the plate behind through to the new boss, but you need the plate off to do it.
MSH
I thought about that so I checked the bolt spacing on the spacer against the holes on the original steering wheel and they don't match up. I'm as sure as I can be I need a different type of adaptor kit.
