Bad News From Lotus

Today they announced around 325 jobs to go from the world wide workforce during "business re-structuring".

 

Very sad news indeed and one wonders whether Jean-Marc Gales really is a car guy or an accountant.  Ex-Peugeot doesn't really sound like a very good pedigree to me, given that they've been producing crap cars *and* loosing money for years!!

 

The real way to cut costs is to invest in the production facilities.  Lotus production methods are ancient and VERY labour intensive but simply cutting the size of the workforce just makes every one else miserable and feeling very insecure about their own futures.
