If you ever get the chance to see Eric "Winkle" Brown speak - jump at it.  He was a WW2 pilot, has flown more type of aircraft than any one else in the world and done more carrier landings.   He is in his mid 90s now, I saw him speak at Cosford a few years ago.  There was a BBC programme a few weeks ago "Britain's Greatest Pilot" absolutely astonishing character.

 

His book "Wings on my Sleeve" is an definite "must read" for anyone interested in aviation

I saw that documentary - amazing. Why the hell hasn't he got a Knighthood?

Agree with that about a knighthood. What an incredible man he is. That programme was amazing.
