MSH
The engine light on my Exige S is on, the code I've got from the reader is P1302, which apparently means "Misfire level causing catalyst system damage". Can anyone shed light on what might be causing this or suggest possible fixes? Thanks Mart
un1eash
You usually get another code along with that one. My reader didn't pick up on it but I had an o2 failure but my obd2 reader was just showing P1302, and misfire on cylinder 1/2.
MSH
Not showing any misfire and it's only saying one fault code to display. What do you mean by o2 failure?
un1eash
Pre cat o2 sensor, it causes the car to misfire under constant throttle. I'd reset and see how it goes.
MSH
Ok, thanks. I'll give that a whirl.
rocketian
I had the same code on my 111R on a track day in the rain at Cadwell Pk. I had it reset and it has not come back (and car passed MoT yesterday - so I assume cat is OK). General view is that it can be caused by a fluffed gear change causing a splurge of unburned fuel going past the sensor
MSH
Turns out one of the plugs had got some moisture in it causing the misfire. Apparently this was due to a poor seal around the plug from one of the HT leads. Took the car back to Christopher Neil as it was still covered by the three month warranty and they replaced all the plugs and leads. Now running sweet as a nut.
