kingie71
Hi fellow members I have recently had the rear clam of my rover s2 elise. When I have put the clam back on the side cill is not marrying up properly? any suggestions... The side gap is not consistent and is slightly more open on the arch side that is closest to the wheel . Only about 3-4 but its noticeable as the distance from the the begging of the cill section to the rear arch is about 5 inches or so. thanks in advance. jonnyfox
Check your shim placement on the rear subframe. Other than that I can't give you a solid answer but to say it's just a case of time, effort and a lot messsing around in getting it right or almost as right as it may have previously been. Lots of pulling and pushing while doing those bolts up.
jimbo07g41
Try and get a bit of cardboard of the desired gap and push down gently on the top of the clam as you tighten the two sill bolts. The shims Johnny describes can easily come a drift.
