Hid Upgrade

Currently looking to improve the lights on my S2 Elise, with a HID upgrade. So i have done all the usual googling and come up with the following.

Has anyone used the for-mentioned kit as some seem to require wiring upgrades but this one does not.

I fitted the Elise shop hid kit which must be very similar

I thought HID was a MOT failure if they did not have fitted washers?

And self levellers, but I doubt many places will do you for it.

I had them on my exige and they were Awsome..... Never mentioned at mot.... Well worth doing.. Altho the radio goes Kaput when they are on, well mine did..... :-)

Never had any problems with mine, they have been on the car for a about three years.

Didn't know there could be mot problems with them. As for the radio, I can live with that :-)

Stockhome, did you go just the dipped lights or main beam as well?

I believe it's a new MOT thing last year.

I'd recommend checking eBay for hid kits before you buy through Elise parts as you can get them a lot cheaper.

The main reason I bought mine from eliseshop is that they stock spare ballasts if they fail.

I used to have the HID4U which are very good but, the elise and dampness, the ballasts failed and i went back to halford 120% whatever...

I have gone for the halfords 120% in the end see how they do. Didnt fancy any extra mot issues.
