winthattt
I have discovered a rolling road tuner in Ripley called Dynotech? They say they have worked on vhpd engines with an Emerald ecu. Has anyone any experience of them? Most local suppliers I use turn into an expensive disaster but this would be easier than driving to Emerald in Norfolk as it is only a few miles from my home. Similarly, has anyone found a garage close to Derby who can fit verniers and a new cam belt? At the moment I am planning a trip to DVA power in Milton Keynes. I have tried Tollbar racing and Gavin but neither can fit verniers.
dobbo
Emerald will let you know who they 'trust' if you ask them - Dave Walker understands that Watton is a pretty long way for most people to travel. There was a thread about a year ago when someone talked about someone Dave W recommended.

Martin R
Verniers on an S2 Exige?
Saint Matt
They mapped my old 330cd and a friend's 330ci, certainly seemed to know what they were doing
winthattt
Verniers on an S2 Exige? I have an S1 Exige as well. The s2 is turn the key and go and a quick wipe down after a track day. To be fair, the s1 has never been any bother but I always worry about it. It is a dog to drive around town but pulls line a train above 4k. Hopefully verniers and a well mapped Emerald will change its character for the better.
Martin R
It certainly should. I have the timing gear and the figures recommended by DVA somewhere if you fancy a bit of DIY?
winthattt
I have picked up a recommendation for Mikeanics in Congleton from Norlog. I spoke to him today and he seams aware of the vhpd, can fit verniers has a rolling road and has mapped Emeralds. Emerald know of him and have had no bad reports. Anyone any experience? I have had too many bad experiences with local garages. My local high performance specialist took some of the under tray bolts off with a hammer and chisel. Luckily they only wrecked the rivnuts on the steel subframe so I was able to replace them. I get very nervous of any trades......I could write about my local carpet shop and 5 weeks to get a tiny area of carpet right....but it is a long and depressing story. My own fault, should not have shopped locally.
Martin R
If it were mine i would get the verniers fitted and timed. Any competent mechanic should be able to do this. I would then take the time / trouble to go to Emerald. Verniers on mine timed correctly stopped it backfiring between gear changes when going for it. If this is a good thing is a matter of opinion. I did drive better afterwards though. IIRC the lift @ TDC for a VHPD is about 110 thou and 120 thou. The chances of this being right on standard pulleys is close to zero. Edit, im sure Dan Webster will fit and time the verrniers if you ask him? He can pop round and use my stuff if he does not have any
