Experiencing boggy revs in the lower half of the range when starting a from cold. It's a 2zz-ge Toyota engine any one got any ideas?

Also the car will cut out when rolling forward in traffic or reversing into parking spaces.

I'm thinking both could be linked.

Have you checked the plugs?

Plugs are 6month old. I changed them when this started happening. Has got worse in the cold. I was thinking along the lines of dirty iacv?

Alex - Just a thought, but have you been driving very conservative lately? especially being winter?

 

If so maybe a bit of a "thrash" is needed to clear the car out?

 

This used to be the most common issue when I worked for Rover many many moons ago.
