John FISH Curtis
In a single garage without removing the rear clam? Going rate for a used CR box?
jimbo07g41
Bit of a nasty job the first few times. Difficult on your own. The hardest part is putting back on. I used a jack and engine crane to line the box back up. You need to take the wishbone off and then turn the box by 90 degrees to remove. Can be done in a single garage with the clam on. russelld
The higher you can get the car the easier it is. The gearbox mount is a PITA to remove & even worse to get back in. Good luck
MilesH
Yes, did it about a month ago in a single garage with the clam on. I was advised not to have the car too high as you need to get at it from the top when removing/refitting and support it with 2 jacks from underneath. It wasn't too bad a job and was definitely easier with two when re-fitting. Did the whole job and then found we couldn't select reverse! So it all had to come out again, Dan (Webster) came round to solve the internal gearbox issue and proceeded to drop and re-fit the box in half the time it took two of us to do it! It took us a full day (first time we'd done it) and Dan 4 hours.
