As some of you may know, I sold the Elise and was on the look out for an Exige. I had looked at a couple of cars but nothing 'floated my boat' so to speak.
However, I had narrowed it down to either a 240S or 260 Cup preferably white or black. I had seen a an Exige in black but had never got up close to a white one.
The wife and kids were going out today so thought I would have a ride down to Bell & Colvill as they had 240S's with the intention of talking to them about the 240S vs 260Cup and if needs be put my name down when they had some used one's come available and to check 'white' out in the flesh. I had absolutely no intention whatsoever of buying one.
So I rock up and in the corner I spot her.. in white... crying out to me... "Mark..I don't like it here it's cold and wet, I want to be loved and cherished and kept in a warm and dehumidified garage" No! I say to myself I have only come for a look.
Out comes Salesman ( Very professional guy called Jamie ) ... fancy a go he says.... no I have only come for nose... are you sure he say's.... oh OK then I reply.
We pull back into the car park...."what do think then"? Oh nice, I reply. Interested in buying he says...............
Then before I could stop myself... out come the immortal words......."No not at the moment ......unless you can come up with a really good deal" and the rest as they say is history!!!!!!
I am now the proud owner of a white 240S Exige!!!!! ( Sorry Chris E - I was planning on viewing yours too ).
I am now sitting awaiting the arrival of the wife and kids where upon I am going to have to explain why I have dropped not far short of the same amount of money I paid for my first home ( mind you that was a long time ago! ) on a new toy!
This may well be my last post for some time as there is a strong possibility that I will be recuperating in Good Hope hospital following an operation to sew back on my testicles!
Wish me luck ..... she's nearly home!
