Some of you may remember just after Chatsworth, a post on the forum asking for a Lotus owner to help as a wedding car.
Well, I was up for it, so contacted the Bride to ask if she would be interested in my car for her husband to be.
A few phone calls over a couple of days, a meeting was arranged at the Bride & Grooms house when the Groom was away at work. the reason the Groom was away at work, because my car would be a surpise. All the Groom would know is that a car would turn up to collect him.
I visited Andrea (bride) and her mother in Matlock, they loved my Elise and final details were arranged..... Date, times, suit colour, tie colour, ribbons on the Elise etc.
I was to collect the Groom from their house, take him to the pub to meet others and finaly to the church.
Andrea's mother was smitten with the Elise, she wanted to have a ride in too, so I offered to take her from the church to the reception.
The night before (Thursday 19th) I spent 4 hours cleaning every inch of the car. The weather forcast was dry,so the roof was removed & ribbons fixed.
The big Day,
Turned up to collect the Rob (Groom) at 11.40am on Friday 20th. He was speachless and spent a few moments looking around the car as the photographer took some pictures before we set off to the pub to meet 30+ wedding guests.
A drink at the pub until 12.40 when we left for the church. Rob showed me where to go... "just drive down this hill and do a U turn".... which I did. "Why are we doing a U turn when the chuch is left at this junction" I said....."because I want you to drive past the pub as quick as you can"......... needless to say, I did, with Rob laughing all the way.
Arrived at the Church for more photos at 13:00hrs.
Andrea arrived in a Maserati, which pulled up behind my Elise.
Just over an hour later Andrea and Rob came out the church and got in the Maerati. Andrea's mother came upto me and asked if we could follow Andrea and Rob in the Elise. So we did as the photograper and videographer filmed the two cars zooming off.
20mins later we arrived at the wedding reception. Rob and Andrea then had photos and video's taken in both cars with Rob taking turns to rev both the Maserati and my Elise.
The videographer filmed the exhausts as Rob revved the cars, asking for these clips to be put in the wedding album.
Overall, an excellent day. Such a privalage to help out Andrea, Rob and Andrea's mother. They also really appreciated both cars, with many guests getting in the cars for photos.
I have a few pictures, but will post pictures when Rob and Andrea have wedding pictures and video's (with their concent)
