This weekend apart from getting attacked by wasps, I felled 3 "big" trees (2ft+ diameter trunks) in my garden.
I was going to use my old chainsaw (Ryobi), but I lent it to someone, and hadn't touched it since. When I got it out the box it was broken (primer bulb ripped), and they are specific component part you have to order, not a simple rubber bowl
Fortunately the mate that helped me had his own chainsaw, so we used his for felling / de-limbing, but I had 3 tree trunks to now chop into firewood..
So I bit the bullet and bought a Stihl.
Wishing I had years ago, it was like going from a Ford Ka to an Exige! (Despite what the spec sheets for the 2 machines say, the Stihl _should_ be the inferior saw)
A little beyond what the little guy was really designed for
But from this
To this in under an hour,
So if anyone here is in the market for a petrol chainsaw, I'd definitely spend the extra and get the Stihl. (Mine is an MS181, and as it was on offer, it wasn't even that much more!)
I bought it from Henton & Chattel on London Road, and they had it PDI'd and ready to collect same day, complete with a full tank of fuel, and filled chain oil tank.... You don't get that from Buy & Queue
