How the heck do you remove them? My drivers side headlight has gone out so i bought a new pair of bulbs and set about fitting them. I thought to myself, "here's a maintenance job even i can do!". How wrong i was! The guides online make it look deceptively simple: "remove the liner" they say, "only three screws" they said. They don't mention that those screws are made of squidgy plastic and will be stuck fast! All that happens when you try to turn them is that the head of the screw deforms, or am i doing something dumb? If i grip them carefully with a big pair of pliars i can get them to rotate, but it feels to me as if they aren't actually unscrewing from anything. Like there's just a nut behind them that is rotating with the screw maybe?
Why are they made of plastic, and if i ever do get them out is there any reason i shouldn't replace them with metal ones?
This is why i don't attempt to do things to cars myself, if i can't even get a wheel arch liner out i'd be completely adrift trying to strip an engine down!
