Evo Triangle And Snowdonia

Well seeing as the Suns been out, me and the wife decided to take a few days off work and head down to North Wales to take in the "Evo Triangle" and Llanberis Pass.

 

Set off early Thursday and drove to the hotel to drop the bags off.

We stayed at the Groes inn at Conwy. Evo magazine stay here when doing "shoots" in Wales. Would definitely recommend it, great food / room.

Decided to do the "Evo Triangle" the first day, then Llanberis Pass, Snowdonia the second.

There's loads of reviews about the "Evo Triangle" so no point doing another. What I will say is, in my opinion the B4501 is the much better road, currently the A543 is being tar and graveled with 10 mph speed limits in places. Took the scenic route back to the hotel via the A5.

 

 

Next day did the A4086 started at Caernarfon > Capel Curig, didn't see another car all along the route, fantastic roads and great scenery.

 

 

We came back home along the A5, have to say this is also a great driving road, some nice bends and lots of long straights!.

 

Overall really enjoyed it, car performed flawlessly, air con worked a treat. Race mode offers so much grip its untrue

Its approaching 1700 miles now, so well run in!.

Have to congratulate the guys at Lotus and Bosch, the DPM systems are fantastic, especially race mode. There's so much grip its unreal. If i'd have have been in a GT3, I'd been climbing out of a ditch.

 

Love those roads, and there are so many more in the area to explore too.

 

We probably got lost on most of them...lol, had to be careful though as some we turned down ended up being single track roads luckily nothing came the other way

Have all the loose chipping gone from the triangle ? We were there 2 weeks ago and it had just been re surfaced

No, still doing the work. Looks like there doing the entire stretch of the A543
