Opened up the boot and found grain in the bottom, raincover (used once) had big holes all over, roof bag two holes and worst of all the roof has a hole about 3" dia. on the seam at the front on the drivers side.

Absolutely bloody fuming. Boot is now empty and thinking of ways to fix the damage.

Mouse trap in place.

Sorry to hear this Dave :( Sure you could find a replacement roof, UKLotusCentre perhaps? A few years ago I sent my roof back to Hethel to be restitched, I think they did that more for S1 roofs.

Maybe this explains why Greg & Aly have never been seen with a roof either! ;)

Just taped up the rain cover, looks like it will work and doesn't look too bad.

Taped up the bag, looks crap......!!!!!

Just dropped a line into UKLotusCentre to see if they can help, also priced up a replacement roof @ £375.

Nothing in the trap yet.

Funny story we have two bloody cats, fat load of use they are....!!!!!!

Still P#?$ed off......

Incredible how something so small can wreak so much havoc. Really feel for you!

Funny you mentioning the cats, we don't have one as such but a neighbour's cat spends alot of time round our house. The other week I was working in the garage with the side door open, out the corner of my eye I saw the cat go by with a little mouse hanging by it's tail. I went outside to then see him drop the mouse down on the drive to play with it, in doing so he chased it to the main garage door whereupon the mouse managed to squeeze under the rubber seal and into the garage! The last we saw of the mouse was under the freezer, I left the door slightly open for the rest of the day and never saw it again so it must either have escaped or died of fright I reckon.

Get rid of the cats its the only logical solution to everything.

Bugger about the roof though.

Bloody mice!! Sorry to hear I'd go all hung oh on it's ass and pull everything out the garage to get it!!

A few years ago I was helping my dad to start a Jensen interceptor, after awhile it started.. Then caught fire! A mouse had built a nest in the air box and it started there! Very strange as if the mouse torched it!!

Have a look on ebay for Roofs and Roof bags there are a few on there.

Use Chocolate as bait in the trap - seems to work better than anything else.

An effective solution to rid your garage of mice is an ultrasonic repellent. About £15 from amazon and use a 9v battery. Your car/dog might not like it either though.

Make sure you bait any mouse traps with cheese and position them close to walls. Mice seldom cross open spaces.

I had this happen (I live in the sticks) but haven't had an issue for a while now. Good luck...

Folks (non-shooting friends) used to moan at us for shooting the grey squirrels that ventured into our garden from the wooded bank behind us. The one year that we didn't thin them out quite as much (the squizzers, not our friends).... YES, you've guessed it, we ended up with a squirrel in the friggin loft! ohmy.gif

Thankfully, we live in a bungalow, so we heard it scurrying around soon after it'd moved in. I dread to think what damage it might have caused if it'd been in there longer though.

Needless to say, we've always managed the local population every year since.

P.S Smooth peanut butter is another excellent mouse/rat trap bait. They stay at the trap to lick it, rather than grabbing and making a dash before the trap goes off. wink.png

OR there's (safe) Eradibait poison http://www.eradi-products.com/

Sorry to hear about your roof Dave. We have also had mice in the garage last year, they made a nest in Carols walkng boots with the filling out of the tongue of the boot. Never thourgh about mice getting in the car. They can do some damage though.
