P4N Lotus Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Well had an error flash up and cruise control now disabled, spoke with stratstone, they didnt really seem bothered to help me, just said earliest they could look at my car was 2nd week of May, and that I should turn my car on and off to see if it gets rid of the fault. They said I could drop my car off there for 3 weeks but wernt able to provide me a courtesy car, not really a solution considering it is my only car and I need one to get to work with. This 2nd experience I have had with Stratstone and both they just didnt really seem that bothered - very blarsay attitude to cars under warranty I feel. Does anyone have any recommended Garage close to Nottingham? thanks
Meister Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Interesting! They had a car I really wanted in January this year and they did their utmost to prevent me from buying the car from them too!! Mark
Alex B Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Only a short trip up the road in Burton on Trent is Gav at Unit4
LotusClaire Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I'm sorry to hear that you have had some issues with our service.... I have sent you a direct message P4N to see if we can clarify this a bit for you. Claire
un1eash Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Give Gav a call, he's very helpful and i'm sure will plug in his scanner and tell you whats going on. He went out of his way to fit a o2 sensor for me last Saturday, Stratstone never rang back with a price for the job after I contacted them. 60 mile round trip is worth it everytime to see Gav even though Stratstone is only a mile away.
a7esk Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Fingers crossed with the direct number it's sorted . Allon Whites or Silerstone is the next point of call .
P4N Lotus Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 Has Gav worked on Evora's? Whats his experience does he have a website? Car is still under dealership warranty, just disappointed that earliest Stratstone would be able to look would have been 2nd week in May, doesn't really help me in my situation, going to see how it goes, spanner light popped up again for 30secs (error detected) this eve but cruise control was working this time. Bit confused. Not have much dealings with Silvlerstone, any good, just more distance. Pity theres no closer ones in the Nottinghamshire area.
a7esk Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Silverstone have my vote as they work on road cars aswell as Silverstone race cars Give Almie a call .
Robo Elise Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I appreciate you haven't had much luck with Stratstone but my experience has been totally different. I bought my car from then in Feb 2011. I had a couple of teething issues initially which were sorted asap. I have since booked the car in for services and I could not fault them at all. Ian in service and John the mechanic can never do enough for you. Also Mark who runs the dealership is very attentive. I have had a few different makes of cars over the years and I must say rarely have I received similar service. I hope you get your Evora sorted out mate;-)
DanP Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 When I was looking for an Elise last year, spent quite a lot of time with the guys at Stratstones, and they treated me more seriously than, say Porsche, BMW sytner, etc. Unfortunately didn't have a car in stock that matched what I was looking for, but they'd be my first port of call next time when I upgrade. Though if I'd parted with a wedge of money, and then felt left high and dry........
Bugeyed Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Just like any thing that provides poor service, the results vary as they cant always get it wrong.
DanP Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 The guys I did buy from went an lost all the receipts, right from the beginning to the last service, buy posting them to the wrong address. Grrrrr!!!! Wonder how much that has wiped off the value of my car :-( Luckily still have all the dealer stamps still.
