Wild Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Yes, AD07s are perfect for road use and AFAIK were original fitment by Lotus. They're only supposed to be summer (ha, ha) tyres or over 7 degrees, but I've used them daily over the last 3 winters in all conditions, without any drama, as long as you drive to the conditions. They do get a bit lively when the tread wears down and it would be probably best to replace at say 3mm rather than the legal minimum. Seriously Lotus, Elise Parts and Hanger 111 all do them.
M@r]{ Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Ok might be an idea to take my Wear rates grid with a pinch of salt, they rates may only be comparable across a manufacturer, so it gives an idea if they are high wear or not but no good to compare against different makes They do get a bit lively when the tread wears down and it would be probably best to replace at say 3mm rather than the legal minimum. Seriously Lotus, Elise Parts and Hanger 111 all do them. See to me this is another reason to look at other makes, not only do they wear down quicker, cost more money you're also saying they have less usable tread?
Hammered Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Have to agree with Scatty, the tread pattern looks cool for a road tyre. Reason enough........Lol.....

russelld Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 hello again, just returned from alignment services who tell me once the car was in the air that they can't alter the camber due to shimming. grrrr anyone know somewhere in nottigham that can do the geo for me. decided to order a set of ad07s. or a one stop shop that will put the new tyres on when i get them ,then do the geo acehole To change your camber they would need to add or remove shims and it sounds like they did not have any. Did they say how far out the camber was ? To be fair most of the time camber is not far out and people usually want to remove shims to give more negative camber. I can measure your current settings and then work out what if any shims you need. It will only take half an hour to measure your camber. Let me know if I can help. Other than that it would be a case of going to a main dealer or Steve Guglielmi in Daventry as most other places would not have lotus shims in stock.
Acehole Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 i will try and scan the results and put them here acehole hopefully results results.pdf
russelld Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Looking at your results it looks like you need 2mm of shims left rear and a 1mm of shim left front. Do you know if they put any weight in the drivers seat when they measured ?
Acehole Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 dont know for sure but i would say not. but you never know. just got to find someone, somewhere to do ti, will be ordering the ad07s tonight, do i get them on first then geo, or geo then tyres or does it not matter. acehole
russelld Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 you will be ok putting your tyres on, the camber adjustments are only minor.

russelld Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 hello, tyres are ordered should be with me tuesday. next daft question.... best place to get them fitted ? also any geo locations yet ? thanks in advance acehole Simon at yourtyres has fitted them for me before : http://yourtyresandservicing.com/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/ or big city did my last ones : http://www.bigcitytyres.com/ As far as getting your Geo done, I'm sure if you get some shims Alignment services will do it for you. If not a main dealer or guiglielmi in Daventry. http://www.guglielmimotorsport.co.uk/ If you do want to get shims yourself the front are different to the back. front shims : http://www.deroure.com/partinfo.asp?MAK=1&MDL=14&TBL=1390&SMA=0&SMO=0&ST=&SC=0&PBID=39343 rear shims : http://www.deroure.com/partinfo.asp?MAK=1&MDL=14&TBL=1391&SMA=0&SMO=0&ST=&SC=0&PBID=39402 If you get 3 of the front shims and 5 of the rear it will give plenty of scope for adjustment. Main dealers may also have shims in stock.
Acehole Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 well the AD07s came this morning, putting them on tomorrow afternoon, lots more tread than what i have at the moment. hopefully will give me more confidence in the car. acehole
R.I.B. Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Take it easy at first, my Ad07s was awful until the coating they use to preserve them had worn off.
Acehole Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 thanks for the advice, what pressures do you run on yours? acehole
