Just a heads up for anyone else covered by CCI.
I went to renew my tax disc earlier and according to DVLA and the askmid database, I'm not insured .....
I have a valid certificate from CCI but it appears they haven't got round to letting DVLA know !
Just hoping I don't go through an ANPR setup between now and when CCI return my call to confirm all is actually ok.
It might be worth anyone else covered with them checking the askmid system to make sure DVLA are aware that you're covered - if not, it could be a little fun at the side of the road . . . . .

Had this also last year
CCI are just brokers its the company your insured with & I'll guess its Aviva that update the MID
Matt @ Henderson Taylor harrassed them for me & it was quickly sorted, he did say that Aviva are VERY slow at updating the MID

I had this problem with cci/aviva. It took about 3 or 4 calls to cci (each time where the response was "terribly sorry, we'll get right on it, check in a week and it will be on there") before it was finally sorted.

Yep, I can jump on this band wagon too. A bit of a shock to find out months after the fact that there is no record of your car being insured!
As for ANPR, my old Honda was untaxed for a couple of months during which I drove in and out of Birmingham quite a lot and I never had a problem. (I wasn't avoiding paying, just forgot it was due as I didn't get a reminder.)

I spent 8 months in the caterham going to various tracks, London etc. being insured with heritage to find out i couldn't tax because they miss recorded the reg... They said it was my fault etc. until i told them it was them who made the mistake and did not event check the pictures of the car with the registration (required for classic car policies)..

Exactly the same with me too.
Looks like with me being under 40 I'll be looking for somewhere else anyway!
