Hell May Be About To Freeze Over

Given my past experiences with buying new I'm thinking of going down the second hand, S1, S2 that's been looked after and had all the niggles fixed route. Certainly not doing the £40K+ just to have it go wrong again..
Willing to spend up to £10K. Anyone know of anything?

It has been a long time.. I've recently changed jobs and no longer have a company car, that leaves the wife (the new wife!) sat at home and marooned without wheels. Been offered a brand spanking new Focus for her at a knock down price but was thinking instead of spending 12K on a focus why not get something small and fun again? £10K on an S1, a little for upgrades or work, the rest on insurance!
What's the best company for insurance these days? Classic car policy, old fart at the wheel, limited mileage..

CCi for insurance although they have become far more stringent. 10k will get you a very nice S1, theres a couple for sale over on seloc atm.

Given that no 2 is already 5 months old (where has that gone????), the second of the two options is the more likely ;-) Just need to get my head around the fact that its going to be costing me about £100 every time i drive it!

Evora?
Would love to, but not sure its a realistic option. Mrs L doesn't fancy having the 3 series touring as her daily drive (no matter how much i tell her it isnt that big).
