Don't no if you already posted this up.
Make your own mind up:
Article from Alan Morgan (Club Lotus main man) He had also said elsewhere to spread the word to the general Lotus community. So this was written on 31st Jan.
Having read the feedback here and spoken to several of our traders it's obvious that any attempt to change the date would cause disruption, chaos and confusion so we're staying with April 20/21. This was my gut feeling right from the start as I was confident the traffic situation could be addressed.
I've now had a very good chat with Donington and they had already started planning traffic flows for both BTCC spectators and Club Lotus Show visitors. Needless to say it's obviously in their interests that there are no problems and things run smoothly.
It’s worth considering that handling an estimated 15,000 spectators in maybe 7,500 cars isn’t a major problem for a circuit like Donington. Think of the numbers at the Silverstone Classic not to mention the GP...
Donington have an established plan for getting race traffic off the road and parking them swiftly once they're inside the circuit. They will have plenty of marshals and all BTCC parking will be well away from our area.
We have not lost any of our regular amount of hard-standing parking space around the Exhibition Hall and had already planned with them how and where to park our visitors. Good signage will be in place and they're confident all traffic will flow smoothly from the motorway and there will be no major traffic jams at any time during the weekend.
We know from experience that parking is never a problem at Doni providing you have a plan and sufficient marshals before you start! I'm confident we have both so please don't stay away because of a hypothetical situation that will not exist.
Comparing Donington's to Silverstone's access/traffic management - chalk & cheese. Good luck to all who plan to give it a go!

Perhaps they should advertise the event on the Donington website???
Do we get a discount to the BTCC as spectators if attending the Club Lotus Show........ might draw more interest?

BTCC weekends don't seem to cause much queing round here nowadays, most access is via Melbourne entrance & so I think this will be OK. 11:30 to 15:30 will be cool I'm sure...

Stupid idea, they should have changed the date. Traffic is bad on a bttc day and it normally tails back a bit when it's just the lotus show.
Attendance will be well down this year.
